As time went on following the closure of the Corn Exchange the buildings condition deteriorated and in 1990 it was refurbished as a shopping centre, 18 years later, and the building use has almost come full circle, with its recent redevelopment as a food emporium, bringing it back to its roots as a place to trade and sell food products.
